On 12th September 2023 we had a successful educational session where we donated 45 Reusable Sanitary Pads sets to 45 girls from Senzani Primary School in Ntcheu District. The reusable sanitary pads that were made from the durable and fine materials were donated to girls from two classes of class 7 and 8.The identification of girls who received the pads was made using the poverty level, some girls who benefited are orphans staying with their old guardians, some are coming from the most poor families who cannot manage to buy pads.
All the finances we received from GlobalGiving (160 $ minus transfer fee) were used to order and buy 45 Reusable Sanitary Pads sets (1 shield + 4 liners).
We would like to thank everyone who donated to our fundraiser and took part to help the girls in Ntcheu, the support has come in time. With the effects of cyclone floods that affected a lot of villages and schools including Senzani, the level of poverty has increased hence a lot of girls were not able to buy pads they were using old clothes as the pads instead. The pads they were provided with, brought a lot of smiles and happiness.
