Your Glimpse into life at Lanta Animal Welfare

What’s Happening Around the Centre?

We want to give you a glimpse into what it’s like here at the center with a few special videos.

  • The first video shows our rescue cats about to receive their afternoon injections.  Have you ever seen cats get excited about their medicine?  Most of our cats are still receiving medications and treatments as they recover from the medical emergency that brought them to us.  It takes a lot to keep our cats healthy and happy.  The Kitty City area provides a safe and secure haven for their recovery.
  • The second video shows our Thai staff in an English language lesson delivered by a local teacer.  Communication is key to providing the animals the best care, and to giving YOU, our supporters, the best experience in learning about the rescued and rehabilitated dogs and cats.

Check out the videos available below.

 Animal Trivia

Why Does Your Cat Stare at You?  The answer is simple, easy and almost a 'duh' moment.  Your cat is just watching what you are doing.  Like all cats, she is curious.  Maybe you'll head to the kitchen and a snack is on the say. Or maybe you'll play with her, or do something she can help with.  Too funny when people think that cats can see through them.  That cats know hidden stuff, know secrets about them.  If a mouse walked by, their attention would be diverted to the more important matters.

Be happy and proud that the cat likes you, and finds you interesting enough to watch.

Can 3-legged animals adjust to the missing limb?  The interesting thing about this question is how we perceive the missing limb. We see it as a disability, something that is limiting, that defines the animal.  The reality is the animals just gets on with it.  They don't see it as a disability, or something that gets in the way.  There may be a period of adjustment, but before long the animal is just as active, fun, and playful as ever.

We Sincerely Value Your Support

Lanta Animal Welfare is a small non-profit animal rescue hospital.  Our mission is to relieve the pain and suffering of the animals.  We can’t do it without the support of our donors around the world.  You make such a tremendous difference to the lives of the rescue animals, and to our ability to upgrade our facility with projects like this one.

Come visit us for an insider's look at everything that goes on at the Cenre.  Plus you can get your cuddle time with the kitties, and walk the dogs on the beach, while soaking up the sun and the stunning island views.

And please remember, if you are coming, let me know and I will personally show you around our Centre, including our new, almost completed, Kitty City area, that you helped build.

Please let me know any questions, comments or suggestions you may have.
