Dear Donors,
We sincerely thank the donors who have supported the End the Rise of Youth Suicide in Lagos, Nigeria project. Your generosity shows concern for young people facing emotional and social challenges. We truly appreciate the contributions received so far, however, the funds available at this time are still not enough to begin the planned support services.
In many parts of Lagos, young people face increasing pressure from unemployment, financial struggles, bullying, and social rejection. Without access to care or safe spaces to talk, many are left to cope alone with overwhelming emotions.
This lack of support can lead to serious mental health struggles that affect daily life, relationships, and future plans. Many do not know where to seek help or feel unable to speak openly due to fear or stigma.
This project is designed to provide counseling, helpline support, and community-based awareness sessions. It will also train key community members to recognize warning signs and guide young people toward safe support.
With these services in place, more young people can receive help when they need it, learn healthy ways to cope, and feel supported within their communities.
We are grateful for the support already shown toward this effort. With additional contributions, it will be possible to begin reaching young people who need care and guidance.
Sincerely,
Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
