One zoo and two animal refuges are supported by the Animals Rescue Program in Venezuela! More than 60 endangered animal species are supported by SAI with food and medical attention.
In the second quarter of 2023, our team of volunteers and employees distributed 1,671 lbs of food, including carrots, corn peppers, wheat bran, tomatoes, oats, zucchini, beans, pumpkin, protein, mangos, watermelon, powdered milk, and more.
We rescued a baby sloth that came to our zoo after being orphaned. Since she is too young to be returned to the wild, she will remain on the foundation until she is of adequate size and weight. Meanwhile, we are teaching her to eat by herself and climb small trees.
