By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader
Dear prospective donors,
In many Nigerian communities, girls continue to face the painful and life-threatening practice of female genital mutilation (FGM). This practice leaves lasting physical and emotional scars and increases the risk of complications in childbirth and other health problems. Fear and silence keep the practice alive, trapping young girls in cycles of harm.
The Ending Female Genital Mutilation via Girls' Sports project will create safe spaces where girls can gather, play, and grow strong together through sports. These activities will replace harmful traditions with healthy alternatives and allow girls to learn about their rights, their bodies, and the value of self-confidence.
At this time, no donations have been received. We invite donors to help us begin this project so that girls can be spared the harm of FGM and find strength through sports.
With thanks,
Kadiri, Ugbede-Ojo Dominic
