On Zero Discrimination Day, we will stand with people like Chinedu, an HIV-positive youth in Nsukka, Nigeria, who faces rejection at school and in his community. This project will combat stigma and discrimination through awareness campaigns, legal support, and community advocacy, ensuring that everyone, regardless of health, status, or background, is treated with dignity and respect.
Millions face stigma daily due to HIV, disability, ethnicity, or health status. In Nigeria, discrimination leads to social exclusion, limited access to healthcare, and mental health struggles. Silence and fear worsen marginalization. Without intervention, individuals like Chinedu continue to suffer in isolation, and communities lose the strength of inclusion.
We will fight discrimination through community awareness programs, workshops, and advocacy campaigns that educate families, schools, and leaders. Legal support is to be provided to victims, while peer networks empower marginalized individuals to share their stories. By fostering empathy and understanding, we will create safer spaces where all people can thrive.
Our long-term goal is communities free from stigma, where people are judged by their character, not their health status, background, or identity. We aim to strengthen legal protections, shift cultural attitudes, and empower marginalized populations so that future generations experience equality, dignity, and inclusion.
