Dear Partners,

Season’s greetings from the KCSD team! In this issue, we mark 15th years of the KCSD Education, advocacy, developing learning materials and Employability skills’ Program me, and as we aim to end the year on a high note by sharing inspiring voiceless from Kenya Christian School For The Deaf family.

We are happy to report that the KCSD innovation of hearing impaired learning materials/device caught the eyes of international media house, Voice of America (VOA) Kiswahili channel and was featured as the first and the only of its kind to be made globally for hearing impaired children; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFy86X_DPHU watch last part , TEKNOLOJIA/Technology.

However, I’m so saddened to report to you that the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn have forced thousands of deaf families in the Kenya into extreme poverty. They are often unable to buy food, clothing, sanitizers and clear face mask for effective communication. Without your help, many will simply not be able to stay safe during this festive season.

I’m also amazed by our beneficiaries during our outreach or door to campaign when I delivered food stuff, masks and sanitizers to KCSD beneficiaries, and when I was about to leave, one of the beneficiaries grabbed my arms. I tried to free my arms gently but the child stared at my face and held my arms tightly, I bent down, signed and asked the child: Do you need something else?

I felt real joy inside me. The answer this child gave me not only made me happy but also changed my attitude to life completely. This deaf child signed to me and said: and I quote "I want to remember your face so that when I meet you in heaven, I will be able to recognize you and thank you so much and come visit us again"

What would you be remembered for after you leave that office or place? Will anyone desire to see your face again where it all matters? This got me thinking. I pray it does same to each of you.

By donating to Kenya Christian School For The Deaf, you’ll be helping to provide life-saving support to deaf children and deaf adults living in some of the most deplorable conditions and unimaginable.

Please act now. at:  http://goto.gg/34834

Thank you for your continued support.
