Dear Suppoters,
As a challenging year draws closer, Kenya Christian School For The Deaf would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our supporters and friends for your continued commitment to our cause by ensuring the continuity of deaf children education during emergencies.
In early 2022, we’ve faced unprecedented circumstances that have required flexibility and resilience, in the midst of a Ukraine vs. Russia war that has made basic commodities price sky rocketing and life becoming unbearable.
Taking the your time to think about who and what we are grateful for provides us with a moment to pause, step back gently, and think again, that affords us a fresh perspective for a new beginning as Kenya heads for tomorrow 9th August 2022. Together we helped make a difference to the lives of over 200000 deaf Kenyan children dreams come true! Cheers to you all because with your helping hand we achieved a lot together.
Beyond being delightful, Kenya Christian School For The Deaf has won Global Disability Innovation AWARD that equips deaf children ages 2-6 years with sign language acquisition empowers parents and teachers, a reflection of our achievement and what we are grateful for.
As Kenya Christian School For The Deaf continues to promote lifelong learning for deaf children. Lifelong learning begins with schools that build learner skills, confidence and appreciation for learning. Global inflation has disrupted deaf children lives, their learning experiences both at home and in schools leading to deep concerns over learning loss and widening skill gaps.
Deaf children in our society are facing challenges in barriers to curricular access, teacher incompetence in the language of instruction, societal myths, and low expectations.
Statistics show that 90% of 200,000 deaf Kenyan children today struggle to access sign language (Kenya Society for Deaf Children/World Health Organization (WHO) report.
We appeal to you and your friends to help us make a different and bridge the gap by mitigating sign language acquisition for deaf children.
We thank you for your continued support as we do our best to break communication in deaf children. Kindly celebrate with us our best Winning Innovation Award for Global Disability Innovation Hub
Regards
