Dear Partners,

I hope this message finds you well. We are deeply grateful for your continued commitment to our cause working together to diversify our network of partners and friends like you, and to empower activists to be as effective as possible.

Many of you have generously donated to KCSD in support of our mission, and on behalf of the Kenya Christian School for the Deaf, we extend our heartfelt THANK YOU. Your contributions arrived at a critical time, enabling us to complete several unfinished projects. Because of your support, we were able to positively impact the lives of 250 deaf children by providing access to sign language acquisition—breaking down communication barriers and opening doors to connection and understanding.

In our holistic approach to ending barriers to sign language acquisition for deaf children, we placed the children themselves at the center of cooperative play-group discussions. These sessions allowed them to brainstorm challenges and explore solutions. Parents and teachers actively participated in the process, ensuring that no one was left behind.

Our mission for 2025 is to eradicate the barriers that deaf children face. When children living in extreme poverty gain access to language, education, and the right tools to support language acquisition, they break the cycle of poverty and redefine their futures. Educated deaf children have greater opportunities to realize their potential. When they are loved and empowered, they find their voice. When they are guided with empathy and positive role models, they grow into confident leaders of tomorrow.

We look forward to continued collaboration with you in 2025 as we explore new ways to facilitate deaf education through play-based learning and peer-to-peer engagement across the globe.

We’re eager to hear your thoughts and insights—your voice matters to us.

Warm regards,

Lavenda Awuor
