Reaching out to poor rural community children with scholastic materials is one of the key activities of Hope for Children’s Health Foundation in Uganda. Children attending school in Rural Communities of Uganda especially in Kyangwali village face a great number of challenges like: inadequate materials to use at school, limited food, walking long distances, failure to pay school fees and limited clean and safe water resources, among others which hence leads to school drop outs.
On 16th February 2019, we reached out to over 24 orphans and vulnerable children in Kyangwali village with scholastic materials like: Pens, Pencils, Exercise Books, rubbers, rulers, sharpeners, tooth pastes (to ensure that they have what to use while in class to avoid school drop outs), and other items like sanitary pads for young girls, and washing soap (for proper menstrual hygiene management and better health outcomes). The funds which were used to purchase these items were received through global giving from our beloved friends and well-wishers from around the world.
During the meeting and distribution of materials, beneficiaries were escorted by their guardians and parents. (Above is the Project leader with beneficiaries).
We wish to thank you all for your generosity and beneficiaries extend their appreciation to you all as well.
We shall continue to reach out to as many needy orphans and vulnerable children as possible. The next step is paying school fees for the beneficiaries and also providing hoes and seedlings to plant so as to strengthen their families economically and such that their guardians and parents can be able to get income from farm products and provide other basic needs and necessities to these children.
