Hello Friends,
The Friends of Adaklu After-School Enrichment Program at Dawanu Salvation Army Basic School continues to provide a joyful and supportive space for students to learn and grow beyond the classroom. The program offers daily academic help in reading, writing, and math, while also encouraging creativity through storytelling, songs, and games. It is especially valuable in this rural community, where most children walk several kilometers to school and have few educational opportunities after hours.
This term’s sessions began on September 15th with our amazing teachers, Miss Irene, Mr. Derrick and Mr. Akorbi, filled with excitement and new faces. Younger learners were introduced to the alphabet through rhymes and songs, while older students worked on reading comprehension, spelling, and confidence-building activities. Teachers noted stronger class participation and a growing love of learning among students.
See our kindergarten graduates proudly teach the alphabet to their younger siblings here.
Your generosity continues to make this program possible. Thanks to your support, children in Adaklu Dawanu are receiving the extra guidance, care, and encouragement they need to succeed in school and beyond. Together, we are helping them build a brighter future, one lesson, one smile, and one story at a time.
