Project Girlpreneur is a one-of-a-kind, girl-only free entrepreneurship program in Lebanon for ages 12-17. The program combines practical training with mentorship, connecting each participant with a female mentor who provides continuous guidance and encouragement. Delivered online with one weekend session per week, it equips 60 girls with entrepreneurial and business planning skills to turn creative ideas into real projects, pitch after 8 weeks, and shape future young women founders in Lebanon.
Project Girlpreneur tackles the compounding crises facing Lebanese girls, economic collapse, geographic isolation, and rigid gender roles. By providing a digital platform, it bypasses transport costs and mobility barriers that often stifle young women. It fills a critical gap in practical business education, replacing the prevailing sense of hopelessness with a self-reliance incubator that turns ideas into tangible projects through professional female mentorship.
Through three cohorts of 20 girls each, this program provides a fully online space, eliminating transportation costs and mobility barriers. Through mentorship, it bridges the professional gap by connecting 60 girls with experienced female leaders who offer hands-on guidance. The curriculum replaces theory with practical business training, while $1,500 in-kind grants transform abstract ideas into real-world ventures. This structure builds agency and long-term momentum in an unstable environment.
Project Girlpreneur creates a sustainable pipeline of female leaders who transition from job seekers to job creators. By instilling an entrepreneurial mindset early, it ensures girls enter the workforce with a competitive, adaptable toolkit. Long-term, this fosters a multiplier effect where graduates become community role models, challenging gender norms and driving economic self-sufficiency. It ultimately strengthens Lebanon's private sector through a generation of empowered women.
