This project will equip 10 hospitals in Ghana with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds to improve the quality of critical care services for seriously ill patients. Many hospitals in rural and underserved areas lack adequate ICU infrastructure, making it difficult to provide life-saving monitoring and treatment for patients in critical condition. This project will strengthen hospital capacity and improve survival rates for patients requiring intensive care.
Critical care services in many hospitals across Ghana are limited due to a shortage of ICU beds and essential monitoring equipment. Patients with severe infections, trauma, respiratory failure, and post-surgical complications often do not receive the level of care they urgently need. This gap contributes to preventable deaths and poor treatment outcomes.
This project will supply and install ICU beds and related critical care equipment in 10 selected hospitals. It will also support healthcare workers with improved facilities to monitor and manage critically ill patients more effectively. This will enhance emergency response and intensive care delivery across participating hospitals.
The project will improve survival rates for critically ill patients, strengthen hospital emergency systems, and enhance overall healthcare quality. Patients will benefit from better monitoring, faster intervention, and improved recovery outcomes. Over time, this project will help reduce preventable deaths and strengthen Ghana's critical care infrastructure.
