As you all know all our girls attend private schools, 4 different schools as each one of them has a different need.
Mercedes will be 16 years old soon yet she only learned how to read and write at 9, whist in Mexico the average child is expected to read/write in first grade. She finished elementary school at 15 which prevents her from attending a regular high school. This is a consequence of governmental regulations regarding age limits.
At this time the only option for Mercedes would be a GED program. With your help she attends a private GED program for 3 hours daily and has extra tutoring at home. Still what she needs to accomplish is far. Mercedes needs a one to one basis and although her poor attention wasn’t taken care of before, the school she now attends shows support by dividing students into small groups so teachers can be attentive to her progress.
At home with Irma her tutor, what she learns is reinforced and her Spanish and Maths marks have improved.
At her school the curricula is organized differently, students tackle one subject at a time for each middle school grade, once they achieve the marks they move to the next subject.
We are proud of her as she had her Spanish exam and got an good mark! She is having her math test this week and we have no doubt she will also thrive! She is a confident girl who enjoys learning despite difficulties and these results have kept her self-assured, becoming everyday a more-easy going and happy young girl!
Thanks for your support Mercedes will have a all the tools she needs to meet her goals!
Wait for our next report, you’ll get to know Lupis one our triplets!
