Lupita is one of the triplets who lives with us in Puerta Abierta. What distinguishes her from her other two identical twin sisters is the fact that she is a fraternal twin and therefore she does not resemble the other two physically. She became a member of our family when she was seven years old and since we met her, we could tell that she was an inquisitive, hyperactive and talkative little girl. Also because of this we immediately recognized that she had some language barriers that we’ve been helping her get through by talking her to speech therapy classes.
She is in a Montessori school, a learning school system that has been very helpful in developing her creative potential. She is enthusiastic, great with manual activities and her gross motor skills as well are impressive. Alongside four of our other girls she is interested in music and takes part in the state’s group choir. Aside from this we are also helping her out with her attention span problems, which consequently make her have some concentration issues when she is learning. Academically we offer her weekly academic regularization hours and next week she will start attending a learning therapy that also tackles the emotional side of therapy through art and play therapy. Her neurologist results show that she is getting good results, but it is essential to continue her treatment.
We are convinced that when an individual wants to be a successful person, it does not matter how many difficulties he or she has to overcome. We believe that Lupis (as we also call her) is one of these people and Puerta Abierta want to see her continues to make the efforts that we’ve so far seen her, do so that she can overcome anything.
