It is not so easy to love...

TO LOVE IS A COMMON VERB

Dear donor,

Hope you are doing well! Today I would like to speak about love; today I would like to ask you to help us in order to make our children feel loved.

Love is a common word; even if you don’t speak English you know this word, I’m sure.

Everyone loves someone else. We all do it in different ways. Love is an abstract concept which influences everyone’s actions in their day by day routine.

When you don’t receive enough love, you start to feel empty and then, probably, you get angry at the world and you live in a anesthetizing state of mind.

That’s what happened to Nazareth, dear donor.

Naza (as she likes to be called) is a new component of the family Puerta Abierta I.A.P. She arrived with us from Mexico city because the foster home where she was living had to close. No one wanted Naza; she has a difficult story dear donor. She has been beaten by her biological family, then she moved to a foster home and then to another and another… until she reached the number of eight fosters homes. Eight. Can you imagine that? Why are you asking? Why did she change so many places to live in ? Because she’s an aggressive girl, she needs love but can’t express that and can become really violent. People don’t like Naza. She appears bad and without feelings. She doesn’t look pretty and she always looks at you with a gaze full of hate.

Please Donor, don’t run away; please read about Naza and about what we need to help her.

As you already understood, we accepted her in our institution. You know that we believe that love and family can change life and you know that we fight every day so that our little girls can change their future through a good quality education together with our family. Yes, we accepted Naza because she’s like a little puppy which was beaten every single day of her life and we didn’t want her on a street without hope. So now she is with us and we have a hard work to do. She doesn’t trust anyone; she challenges us every time and seems to not care of anyone or anything. However, we know she just has a protective external layer in order to not suffer. She is just waiting for the moment in which she will be sent to another institution. But we don’t want to give up. We want to help her. We want her to feel love in her heart. We want her to be confident of people, we want her to smile, we want to persuade her that life can be happy.

But we need your help; we need your support in order to pay her school and the therapies she needs. Naza needs psychological attention all day with her in order to be focused on her school and her heart.

She needs us to construct her life. She deserves a future.

Dear donor, I know it is not so easy to get in touch with Naza but remember: you learned to love because someone else loved you. Naza learned to hate because they hated her.

Together we can change her future, so please help us.

We will tell you about her advances in the next months, I promise.

With all our love (see how easy it is for us to use this world?)

Puerta Abierta I.A.P.
