Food is hope, stability, and love made visible. In a beautiful display of community care, Makindu Children's Center (MCC) remains a sanctuary of steady nourishment, ensuring that 550 children sit down to daily, warm meals at the Center. This steady presence has wiped out severe acute malnutrition, triumphantly leaving the number of severely malnourished children at an absolute zero. This year, to fortify their growing bodies, Hundreds of children have been uplifted with vital vitamins while some have received specialized Unimix nutrition. This care extends past the center’s doors directly into the hearts of homes, providing crucial relief food to around 500 households. By sustainably managing these feeding programs, MCC has successfully fueled the minds, bodies, and spirits of an entire generation.
The children pictured below are enjoying a second helping of food. They had never had a full plate of food, let alone a second helping, until they were enrolled in MCC.
