Project Overview:
Food insecurity is one of the major challenges faced by underprivileged students, especially those in orphanages and low-income communities. To support their health, learning capacity, and overall well-being, Al Ehsan Charitable Foundation Nepal launched a Weekly Student Meal Program to provide nutritious meals every Friday to students from selected institutions.
Project Objective:
The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure that students receive at least one nutritious meal per week, contributing to their physical health and educational performance. By reducing food insecurity among students, we aim to:
Improve student concentration and learning outcomes.
Provide a sense of care and community support.
Encourage regular school attendance.
Promote better health and well-being among young learners.
Beneficiary Institutions
The program has provided weekly meals to students from the following institutions:
1. Imam Bukhari Orphan Care
2. Jamia Bilal, Bir Ribah, Raz Bhokraha
3. Himalayan Public School
Implementation Process
1. Planning & Coordination
Meetings were held with school administrators and orphanage staff to understand the number of students and dietary preferences.
A menu was planned to include nutritious and culturally appropriate meals.
Logistics were arranged to ensure timely meal delivery every Friday.
2. Meal Preparation & Distribution
Meals were prepared in a hygienic environment and transported to the respective institutions.
Volunteers helped with serving meals to students, ensuring equitable distribution.
Meals included a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, and essential nutrients.
3. Student Engagement & Feedback
Schools provided regular feedback on meal quality and student response.
Teachers and staff observed positive changes in students' energy levels and engagement.
Plans are in place to improve and scale up the initiative based on feedback.

Conclusion
The Weekly Student Meal Program has successfully reached and nourished hundreds of students at Imam Bukhari Orphan Care, Jamia Bilal, and Himalayan Public School. By ensuring regular, nutritious meals, we have contributed to their physical well-being, academic performance, and overall development.
The positive response from students and educators underscores the importance of such initiatives, and we look forward to scaling up efforts to reach even more children in need.
