Karamoja is experiencing a severe food security emergency after difficult climatic conditions disrupted crops and weakened household food supplies. Although seasonal conditions may bring some improvement, the latest IPC projection warns that food insecurity will remain persistent in several districts through February 2027.
Families cannot wait for a future harvest while children are going hungry today. Immediate food and nutrition assistance is needed alongside efforts that strengthen livelihoods and resilience.
