Dear Donors,
We are pleased to share that Empower Future Initiative has completed a local needs assessment for our emergency food relief response in Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. The assessment focused on a remote underserved community where vulnerable families are experiencing acute hunger and growing food insecurity.
Through this process, we identified 20 families as the first group needing urgent food support. These families include households with children, elderly members, low-income caregivers, and people who have limited access to stable food sources. Many are already reducing meals and stretching whatever little they
have.
This assessment has helped us understand the most urgent needs, the kind of food support required, and the importance of acting quickly. It also ensures that support will be targeted, transparent, and community-informed.
We are now ready to begin distribution once funding reaches us. More support will allow us to reach not only these first 20 families but many more households facing hunger in nearby communities.
Best wishes,
Empower Future Initiative Team
