Feed Hungry Families in Northern Nigeria Crisis

Food insecurity affects young people in ways that can extend far beyond hunger. Vulnerable adolescents living in households struggling to afford regular meals may experience difficulties that affect their well-being, education, concentration, and ability to participate fully in community life.

Through our emergency food relief intervention, Empower Future Initiative is supporting households with vulnerable adolescents who are experiencing difficult economic circumstances.

For these young people, food assistance can provide a more stable home environment during a challenging period. When caregivers have access to essential food items, some of the immediate pressure on the household can be reduced. This matters because adolescents need nourishment, stability, and encouragement to remain engaged in education and positive development.

Our response therefore connects emergency food assistance with broader goals around child wellbeing, education, protection, and community resilience.
