Dear Donors,
When we say that our emergency food distribution has reached hundreds of households, it is important to remember that every household represents a different human story.
On 15 August, Empower Future Initiative reached 500 insecurity-displaced households with emergency food assistance. The food packages included rice, Garri, and other essential food items intended to help families meet immediate food needs.
Behind those 500 households were parents trying to care for their children, elderly people navigating displacement, young people growing up amid uncertainty, and families working to rebuild lives disrupted by insecurity.
The distribution was not simply a logistical exercise. It was an opportunity to stand beside people experiencing hardship and remind them that they are not forgotten.
We are grateful to our GlobalGiving donors and partners whose generosity helped make this humanitarian response possible. Their support demonstrates the value of locally led emergency relief, where community-based organizations can respond directly to vulnerable households.
But our work is not finished. Displacement and food insecurity continue to affect many families beyond those reached in the first distribution.
We are therefore appealing for continued donor support to expand emergency food assistance. With additional resources, EFI can reach more vulnerable households, strengthen community-based relief, and provide food assistance where it is needed most.
Best wishes,
Empower Future Initiative Team
