Dear Partners,
Emergency food assistance provides immediate relief, but it can also contribute to household and community resilience.
When a vulnerable family receives food support, scarce resources can sometimes be preserved for other important needs. A caregiver may be able to meet a child's school-related need. A household may avoid selling an essential item simply to purchase food. A family may have enough breathing space to consider how to rebuild income.
This is why Empower Future Initiative views food relief as one component of a wider humanitarian response.
Our work supports vulnerable households experiencing food insecurity, displacement, poverty, and other forms of hardship. We provide immediate food assistance while remaining committed to longer-term approaches that strengthen household resilience and community wellbeing.
We sincerely appreciate the GlobalGiving donors who have helped make this work possible.
The challenge remains substantial, and our response needs continued support. More resources will allow us to reach additional families, provide more emergency food assistance, and strengthen the bridge between immediate relief and longer-term recovery.
We invite donors to stand with vulnerable Nigerian families as they work to move from crisis toward resilience.
Best wishes,
Empower Future Initiative Team
