In Colombia, the Commune 13 of Medellin has been very known for its characterizing violence.
I am Katherine, I was born in one of the neighborhoods of this commune, I'm 11 years old, and three years ago my parents involved me with the social institutions of the sector, as a factor of protection, to keep me safe from the many social issues we face.
It is very common to hear bad news; news of people who are missing, dead, threats. These things makes one feel unsafe, shy and not very sociable.
For years I've been a beneficiary of another foundation of the sector, but its doors got closed.
It's been a year since I joined the "Trigo y Miel" Holistic Center that belongs to the Tiempo de Paz Foundation.
This is a space where I feel safe, protected and loved.
Last March they taught me to create a culture of PEACE, loving myself, my family and the people in the neighborhood.
