HAPPINESS ON THE EYES OF THE GIRLS

From Thorns to Blossoms: How You're Helping Girls Like Warda Thrive in Yemen

WARDA'S STORY

The world had become a canvas of dust and debris for Warda, a thirteen-year-old with eyes the color of twilight. Rose, her name meant in Arabic, felt more like a thorn these days. The war had snatched away her father, leaving her family teetering on the edge. School, a once vibrant escape, now felt like a luxury they couldn't afford.

One day, a whisper of hope fluttered through their village. A program, "Feeding 1000 Poor Rural School Girls in Yemen," promised not just food, but a chance to keep learning. Warda's heart, heavy with grief, flickered with a faint spark.

The program was a lifeline. The nourishing meals filled a void not just in their stomachs, but in their determination. Warda, surrounded by girls with similar stories, found a strength she hadn't known she possessed. The classroom, once a distant dream, became a sanctuary filled with the murmur of shared knowledge.

Days turned into weeks, and Warda blossomed. Her grades rose like desert flowers after a rare rain. The program fed them and provided them with school supplies, a small treasure chest filled with pencils and notebooks, and weapons against the ignorance the war tried to enforce.

One afternoon, while reciting a poem about hope, Warda saw a flicker of pride in her mother's eyes. It was a different kind of rose blooming there - a rose of resilience, a rose that refused to wilt under the harsh sun. Warda knew, with a certainty that warmed her from the inside, that education was her weapon, her shield, her key to a future as bright as her name. The war may have cast a shadow, but Warda, like a rose pushing through cracked concrete, would keep reaching for the sun.

From the bottom of their hearts, Warda and the countless girls like her who are blooming again, want to express their deepest gratitude to the generous donors of the "Feeding 1000 Poor Rural School Girls in Yemen" program. Your compassion has been a beacon of light in their darkest hour.

Because of your generosity, girls like Warda are not just surviving, they are thriving. You've given them the gift of a full stomach and a full mind, allowing them to dream again and fight for a brighter future.  Thank you for nurturing the roses of Yemen and giving them the chance to blossom despite the hardship.
