We are happy to report that our program is going on well and the weather has been fantastic! We have had good rainfall since we planted and the crops are doing very well. This year the weather has been so friendly and with the right seeds and fertilizer, we have seen a very big difference in our farms.
Those who planted beans have already harvested and are getting ready to harvest the maize. This has really helped them because the prices of beans were very high and nobody could afford to buy them. This has been a big relief for these ladies at least their children can have beans to eat while at home. They are very much excited as they are waiting for the maize harvest. This is because the maize crops have done very well and they will have enough until the next harvest. For now, they are enjoying the green maize, they can roast and or boil, we do this for breakfast!
This has been the best program in the community and we are happy to report that the program is successful. The program has directly supported 30 families and 210 children have benefitted from the food security program. Our goal is to have all 400 widows on board within the next 5 years and 2400 children will have food.
It is our prayer that you will continue to share the good work you are doing with others to strengthen this program. This will enable us to have all the 400 widows have food every year.
