Birds and mammals who have overwintered with us are lined up for release to make room for all the expected guests. Just yesterday, two dark-eyed juncos were released to join the flock on our property, today two Cooper's hawks returned home; tomorrow two opossum will again explore and find new dens at a beautiful release site. In the days and weeks to come, red-tailed hawks, a pelican, squirrels, rabbits, a short-eared owl and woodchucks will all return to their wild families, as new babies arrive to take their place in the hospital and in our hearts.
Just in time to help the wild babies, Global Giving is giving you, our donor, a real incentive to help, thanks to Bonus Day, which is tomorrow, March 14!
This Wednesday, March 14th, all online donations to Fellow Mortals through GlobalGiving.org will earn a 30% matching bonus up to $1,000 per donor until matching funds run out. A total of $50,000 is available.
In addition to the 30% match, GlobalGiving is offering a $1,000 bonus to the project that raises the most funds that day and a $1,000 bonus to the project that receives donations from the most individual donors!
Global Giving's gift couldn't come at a better time for the wild ones, for Spring has come to Fellow Mortals with the first babies of the season--three tiny newborn squirrels, weighing just 12 ,13 and 14 grams. We expect to admit nearly 1,000 babies into care over the next few months.
Perhaps you've already donated what you can but haven't yet shared Fellow Mortals' story with your friends, Why not let people who share your passion for wildlife and the environment know that tomorrow is a great time to get to know Fellow Mortals and join you in making a difference for a wild baby that needs a second chance.
Thank you, friend; Happy Spring!
