Dear GlobalGiving team,
First of all, we would like to warmly thank everyone who already contributed to the Festival 24 project.
Our association, Sport Dans La Ville, will organize Festival 24 which will take place from July 19th to July 28th 2024 in Lyon and Paris and will bring together more than 500 young people from 64 delegations, from 35 countries around the world ! Each delegation will be composed of an adult (Delegation Leader), a young sports coach (Young Leader), and six young people (three girls and three boys) aged 15 to 17. The main objective of this event is to celebrate the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, while promoting social integration through sport.
As part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, disadvantaged young people will have the opportunity to meet their peers from around the world and participate in various sports activities. Festival 24 will also offer moments of sharing, the discovery of different Olympic and Paralympic sports, as well as a cultural enrichment, through the many emblematic places of Lyon and Paris. For several months, our team has been working tirelessly to make Festival 24 an unforgettable moment for all participants. Currently, we focus on all logistical aspects, including finalizing accommodation, transport, sports activities, restoration, etc. while having a constant follow-up of the 64 delegations that will participate.
All Young Leaders and Leaders Delegation have already been selected, and they now have until February 14th to choose six young people who will complete their team. After this step, important work will be done to support them in the purchase of transport tickets. Delegations outside Europe do not receive special support, while those in Europe receive support through the Erasmus+ program. So the needs of delegations outside Europe vary, and we want to share these different cases with you. Some of them require considerable financial support, while others face less significant difficulties.
We have classified the delegations into different categories (You can find it in the documents section), who in our opinion will have the biggest difficulty to raise funds, up to those who will encounter less difficulty (smaller amounts to raise or they are good fundraisers).
