INTRODUCTION
In order to support the Government of Rwanda to fighting human trafficking, EJO TWIFUZA initiated the project of Assisting the Government to fighting the Injustice of human trafficking in Rwanda through transit monitoring and helping potential victims to find a safe way back to their family’s home.
To protect vulnerable Children, we must intervene before they are exploited. That's where EJOTWIFUZA Organization comes in. Our aim, however, is to do much more than just save a few individuals while human trafficking networks continue to destroy lives; we want to help the Government of Rwanda “stop it and promote Human dignity. As well as there are two main anti-trafficking strategies used around the world. The first is prevention through education and awareness, and the second is rescue. At EJOTWIFUZA we do both and in rescue We “intercept” someone when we have good reason to believe that they are in the process of being trafficked or at high risk of being trafficked through Transit monitoring strategy.
Our intervention is relevant for the response to SDGs objectives and direct assistance to victims of trafficking in persons in line with the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime. Our interventions are also relevant for the response to the Rwandan Government priority of ending human trafficking as articulated clearly by H.E President Paul KAGAME in August 2014 during the swearing in of ministers, members of parliament, and the inspector general of police.
''Can we afford to keep quiet in the face of human trafficking? How is it possible that our children particularly girls have become a commodity, even though we are aware of the problem? People are not commercial goods. Ending trafficking of girls goes beyond low enforcement authorities, it is the responsibility of every citizen'' (Kagame Paul ,2014).
We at EJO TWIFUZA, we have not been able to afford keeping quiet on the face of human trafficking when we are aware of the problem, we believe that If we don’t act today to fighting Children trafficking and slavery ,we wonder that in the near future more innocent victims will continue to be trafficked, we will observe the continual greatest injustice, human trafficking networks will continue to destroy lives and our population will live in conditions of deterioration of human right and human dignity without a difference between Slavery and freedom.
