Our first official Global Giving Report is an incredibly immense and emotionally humbling THANK YOU to all of the donors, partners, volunteers and supporters that made the Open Challenge campaign a success so that we could be able to write this thank you today – in honor of you!
What a whirlwind of emotions and strides and great dedication from all of our donors, partners, volunteers and supporters, not only those of you discovered and supported us via Global Giving, but to all of our supporters around the world!
Your incredible generosity and selfless fight for joy has jump started the official planning and securing of resources for the build out of the OneMama Community Center Pallapa! Now that so much of our birthing and medical clinic have been built, our biggest priority for facility development is the completion of the Community Center Pallapa so that OneMama community members have the appropriate means for sustainable business that allows the community members to develop sellable products, improve production efficiency and continue perfecting their trade-craft and agricultural education and skills.
This importance of the Community Center Pallapa is the key for Kirindi Village to become self-sustainable by Year 10. Our goal in the US is to assist in the product line development, securing a viable sourcing plan and vendor relations within Uganda to provide materials needed for constant production for the future, and to provide the appropriate education and equipment needed to fully secure their sustainable business and goods.
In parallel to the development of this Community Center, we are extremely proud to announce the development of a new relationship that will raise funds to develop a OneMama Library onsite in Uganda that will provide the educational materials needed for trade-craft and agricultural education and training. More details about this project will be announced by February 2014 so stay tuned!
As stated so many times before, our global mission is to build 250 OneMama clinics around the world in an effort to eliminate the statistic of those living under $1.25 per day. In doing so, it is our goal to first secure our Pilot Program in Uganda as the model for future clinics whereby partners, volunteers, medical professionals, traditional midwives, and all others affiliated or interested in being affiliated with the program can get the training they need to join to the OneMama movement for the global unity of the opportunity for hope and success.
The development of the pilot program, thus, is incredibly important because it will serve as the permanent and constant training grounds for future clinic affiliates and partners - which in the end will be the direct connection of OneMama program development around the world.
And it starts right here with the completion of the Community Center Pallapa. For this, we thank you!
As a OneMama Elder recently said: “We were never taught to dream this big and we didn’t know how. Until now.” This experience coupled with your support is truly amazing!!
Our sincerest regards and many joyous blessings,
