First Egyptian Info Hub for Wheelchair Users!

Dear Alhassan donors, supporters and believers,

2019 was a great year and we are thrilled to share our accomplishments. Through our database we were able to search and filter how many beneficiaries we were able to serve and which services did they get.

Throughout 2019 we were able to:

• Provide 133 SMEs focusing on underprivileged areas.
• Provide 307 beneficiaries with customized wheelchairs.
• Register 100 beneficiaries in different sports scoring 65 medal.
• Enroll 22 beneficiaries in various Arts program.

Here’s a quick recap of what we were able to accomplish in 2019:

• We won the United Nation’s Zero Project Award for being one of the most innovative practices that enable persons with disabilities live independently. Check our presentation in Vienna Alhassan in UN Vienna
• We added a subproject “Bliss” under Rise Up Project check the first report Alhassan's Firstborn to know more.
• We finished translating and publishing Gary Karp’s “Life on Wheels” which serves as a user manual for wheelchair users that covers all aspects of life for wheelchair users.

Our theme for 2020 is efficiency; trying to be as efficient as possible in our processes and services. We want to upgrade our ERP system to be able to accommodate more needed information and details as well as perform extra queries so we could serve beneficiaries efficiently.

We highly appreciate your continuous support to our cause. Your donations contributed to sustain our project “Info Hub” and maintain our Odoo ERP system. We have the only database in Egypt that has some of the physically-challenged information and we grow every day with an average of 5 beneficiaries (wheelchair users). Furthermore, we do regular modifications on our system to stay up-to-date and optimize filtering and searching for beneficiaries; based on their age, geographic area…etc.

Having a system like that helps us with all the statistics needed to enhance our services and know who/where to target. We were also able to determine how many beneficiaries we served and how many family members were consequently impacted.

Many of our projects not only directly impact our beneficiaries but they also indirectly affect their family members. Physical and financial independence we seek makes the physically challenged an added-value in the community; not a burden. To show the effect we seek, imagine two people on wheelchairs. One of which has to depend on a family member in everything due to their mobility issues and the lack of proper rehabilitation and accessibility; the other is more independent and whose family doesn’t have to reschedule their entire day to help him move around.

Throughout the 6 years that the foundation been active for, we invested 32 million EGP (around 2 million USD) in our beneficiaries through our diverse services. So, thanks to your donations, we were able to directly change the lives of around 5000 wheelchair users but that actually positively impacted around 20,000 wheelchair users and their families.
