Last month we had important international visits from the St. Jude Global Palliative Care program at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Dr. Michael McNeil and Dr. Ximena García, director and coordinator, respectively. It was their first time in Chile, they wanted to visit Casa de Luz, though it is the first pediatric hospice in South America.
During their stay, in addition to visiting Casa de Luz, they shared with our work teams and exchanged knowledge and experiences regarding pediatric palliative care.
We are proud to say that we have already received thirteen families in our house. The maximum length of stay has been two months. We hope to continue helping and welcoming those who need it.
