Amid severe living conditions affecting thousands of families in Syria, Saed Charity implemented a food basket distribution activity aimed at strengthening food security and alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable groups impacted by conflict and economic deterioration.
The intervention targeted displaced families, widows, elderly individuals, and households that lost their primary source of income. Beneficiaries were selected based on clear vulnerability criteria, in coordination with local field teams who have a strong understanding of community needs.
Each food basket contained essential items such as flour, rice, cooking oil, lentils, sugar, and canned food—sufficient to meet a family’s basic food needs for one month. Distribution was carried out through transparent and dignified mechanisms, ensuring fairness and safety for all beneficiaries.
The assistance significantly reduced hunger levels, limited harmful coping strategies, and improved nutritional intake, particularly for children and elderly family members. Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation, noting that the support restored a sense of stability during a difficult time.
Saed Charity reaffirms its commitment to continuing food security programs in Syria, with the support of generous donors, and expanding assistance to reach more families in need.
