Food Baskets for Displaced Families

Amid the ongoing deterioration of economic and living conditions in Syria and the sharp increase in food prices, thousands of families are struggling to meet their daily nutritional needs. In response, Saed Charity implemented a food basket distribution project aimed at supporting food security for the most vulnerable households and alleviating their suffering.

The project targeted displaced families, households that lost their sources of income, female-headed families, as well as elderly individuals and persons with disabilities. Beneficiaries were selected based on clear criteria, including income level, family size, and living conditions, in coordination with local field teams to ensure assistance reached those most in need.

Each food basket contained essential items such as flour, rice, vegetable oil, lentils, sugar, and canned goods. The contents were carefully designed to provide balanced nutritional value sufficient to support a family for approximately one month.

Distribution activities were conducted in an organized and dignified manner, adhering to safety and accountability standards and ensuring fairness in access. The project contributed to reducing hunger, limiting negative coping mechanisms, and improving household food stability, particularly for children and elderly family members.

Saed Charity reaffirms its commitment to continuing food security interventions in Syria and expanding humanitarian assistance to strengthen family resilience and improve living conditions, with the support of generous donors and humanitarian partners.
