Amid the severe economic hardship affecting Syria, food baskets have become far more than humanitarian assistance—they are a true lifeline for families struggling daily to survive. With rising prices and limited employment opportunities, many households can no longer afford even their most basic food needs.
In response, Saed Charity carried out a food basket distribution campaign targeting the most vulnerable families, including displaced households, widows, elderly individuals, and families who lost their primary source of income. Beneficiaries were selected through clear and transparent criteria to ensure aid reached those most in need.
Each food basket contained essential items such as rice, sugar, oil, legumes, and other staples necessary to prepare daily meals. Beyond their nutritional value, these baskets carried a message of solidarity and compassion for families exhausted by years of crisis.
Mothers expressed relief at being able to prepare proper meals for their children without fear of running out of food. Children felt comfort in seeing full plates again. Fathers experienced a moment of relief from the constant burden of providing under impossible circumstances.
Sustaining these initiatives protects families from hunger and strengthens community resilience. As needs continue to grow, your support remains vital to maintaining and expanding this humanitarian effort.
