By Cora Sayre | Project Leader
Dear Friends,
Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your kind help to our project providing food, education and hygiene support for girls. We found out that it is fairly easy for very poor families to raise vegetables in their backyards the only problem is the lack of high quality seedlings that they can use. Local seedlings usually are not productive anymore as they are result of in-breeding. To help solve this problem, we raised vegetable seedlings in plastic trays in our field area in Polanco and one the seedlings are mature enough, they are distributed to interested families with the families paying for the seedlings later on when they are able to harvest the vegetables. This reporting period, we are able to distribute 120 vegetable trees to 35 households. Aside from the seedlings, we also provided easy to follow technical guide on how to produce organic fertilizer from farm waste.
Again, thank you very much for your kind support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
