FOOD SUPPORT PROJECT REPORT NOVEMBER 2023

INTRODUCTION

This report consists of the EJO TWIFUZA Organization activities of the project of food support to 400 orphan family's in Rwanda from August to November 2023. EJO TWIFUZA which means “Striving for the Future’’ is Non-profit organization with the Mission of promoting social welfare and human rights for next generation in Rwanda.

 

CONTEXTE

About 5.4 million out of its estimated 11.8 million people are under 18 years old. However, children and their families still face significant challenges. Despite rapid urbanization, around three quarters of the population live in rural areas. Poverty remains widespread, with 39 per cent of the population living below the poverty line and 16 per cent living in extreme poverty. Children are disproportionally affected by this poverty, experiencing multiple deprivations of their basic needs include getting food.

 

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:

This project wants to funding seeds for 400 small vegetable gardens for 400 orphans’ families managed by children to grow, plant and harvest their own food.  This will help ensure food security and hope to eat to this vulnerable orphan children families.

 

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

The project expected outcomes is to fundraising the total amount of $ 24,000 in order to allowing 400 Families of orphan children to get vegetable gardens which will support their families to get food for health and well-being.

ACHIEVED OUTCOME

  • We have been able to mobilize $375 ($ 135 from 3 donations on the GlobalGiving platform in the past 3 months of before August 2023 and other $ 240 from local contributions between August to November 2023.
  • 8 small vegetable gardens for vulnerable orphans’ families are funded

OBSERVATION

- $ 23,625 is the remaining budget to be fundraising

- 392 small vegetable gardens for vulnerable orphans’ families are remaining to be funded.

PLANNED NEXT STEPS

We continue do fundraising efforts to help mobilizing the needed funding and resources for the implementation of this project.
