COVID RELIEF PROGRESS REPORT OCTOBER 2021

By Geoffrey Anguyo | Project Leader

We thank our partners especially those who have contributed to the covid relief fund. We were able to vaccinate people with over 3.000 doses of Astra Zenca vaccine in Arua District in West Nile Region of Uganda when the newly created District did not have the human resource to administer the vaccines with the expiry dates fast approaching. We were able to support over 100 health workers with personal protective equipment (PPEs) when all the health workers were fearing to work on their patients due to lack of PPEs. We were able to give over 2,000 cloth masks to vulnerable groups especially market vendors motorcycle taxi riders because they could not get back to their work without masks and the open market prices were extremely high. We need more support to roll out covid 19 vaccinations. The vaccines will be available in the coming months and we need the human resource to get the vaccines out to the vulnerable communities. There is urgent need to support our volunteer health workers with transport ,food and accomodation to make the perform their activities efficiently. Any support will go a long way to help us achieve our mission. We have reached out to rra areas to mobilize people to get vaccinated against covid 19. The overall target is to vaccinate between 80.000 and 100.000 depending on the avaiability of the vaccines. As Uganda Government rocres more vaccines there is a huge challenge of human resource. We have been able to mobilize the human resorce and we need to financia support to get the Health workers to the hard to reach areas.
