Project Report | Mar 6, 2023
Oh, what fun!

By Juliana Ferreira | Communication Coordinator

Dear fellow environmentalists,

First of all, we want to thank you for your support to our forestry program. Together we really are making a difference!

As the March rains bring our summer to a close, we have completed our 2023-22 tree planting goal of 55,000 trees. And we couldn’t have done it without your support, and the hard work of our team. We’re really excited to have hit our target, and it’s an important contribution towards the conservation of biodiversity in our region.

And here’s some more exciting news for you:

After years of downgrading the public sector and weakening environmental policies during the previous administration, the new Lula government is committed to rebuilding sound climate policies! The goal is to achieve net zero deforestation by 2030, not only in the Amazon but across all the biomes in Brazil.

As a megadiversity country, Brazil has a special responsibility to protect its extraordinary biodiversity, and we at Iracambi will be doing what we can, not only to play our part, but also to hold the government accountable for delivering on its promises.

Let's see where that leads us!
