Dear friends and donors,
Trees are very much a part ot the year end celebrations, aren't they? So, as the year ends, here's a quick reminder how trees are an integral part of our lives.
1. Trees for Christmas
Did you know that evergreen trees have been part of mid-winter rituals for thousands of years?
In the northern hemisphere they have come to symbolize life, light and love, and across the world the Christmas tree has become the focal point of Christmas celebrations.
But wherever we live in the world, trees give us gifts every day of the year. Oxygen, rainfall, shade, fruits, medicines and timber.
2. Trees for climbing
Did you climb trees when you were a kid?
Do you remember what it felt like when you pulled yourself higher and higher and looked down?
Perhaps a tiny bit scared, but you felt on top of the world, remember? And the tree held you safe. (Unless you fell out!)
At year end, let's say thank you to trees. They give us so much.
3. Tiny seed to mighty tree
Every forest starts with a seed
Such a tiny seed – give it the right conditions and it can grow into a mighty tree.
Here at Iracambi we’re planting a million trees. Restoring and protecting the forests that give us so much. And you are a valued partner.
And so, as we bid farewell to 2025 and move into 2026, let's all pause for a minute to give thanks for this beautiful planet with its magnificent richness of plants and animals, and especially for the trees.
with love and appreciation for your support,
The Iracambi Forestry Team
