A Year of Growth and Impact in Mental Health

By Maira Brandao | Project Leader

Inaugural live session for educators from Parana

This year, we offered 5,000 spots for the Ame Sua Mente na Escola (Love Your Mind at School), mental health training to educators in the public school system of São Paulo state. We were astonished when we heard there were more teachers, vice-principals and principals interested in the training. But we were really thrilled when, by the end of the application period, we had 7,000 people who applied for it.

We know there’s usually a high drop-off rate when it comes to online self-instructional training. However, to date, 3,576 participants have already started the course — that’s 52%. Our team is working diligently on an engagement strategy to encourage everyone to keep learning about mental health.

We are excited to share that, in partnership with Fundação Itaú Social, we are reaching new horizons! We have started a training course for 150 educators from the Diretoria de Educação Inclusiva da Secretaria Estadual de Educação do Paraná, impacting an estimated 2,000 schools.

Also in a partnership with Fundação Itaú Social, part of the Ame Sua Mente na Escola (Love Your Mind at School) training is now available to anyone who’s interested in expanding their knowledge on strategies for managing, preventing, and reducing stigma around mental disorders.

Last but not least, 2024 has been a year of consolidation for the Institute's work. We’ve been recognized by important organizations, such as Prêmio Melhores ONGs (Best SGO’s Award), Selo Doar A + (Donate Seal), and we made it to thedotgood’s top 50 Brazilian ranking.

We sincerely thank you for your ongoing support, which makes our work in mental health education possible. Together, we've achieved great progress, and we hope you'll continue with us on this important journey. Your contribution is making a lasting impact, and we look forward to what we can accomplish together in the future.
