Community fundraising on 6th June

As part of the Fly The Phoenix Seven Continent Charity Challenge on Saturday 6th June, the communities themselves will be undertaking events to raise awareness and funds. In Perú our local teachers, students and families will be hiking around Sachaca. Please sponsor the communities as we strive to move towards sustainability over the next few years by donating to this page.

A fantastic few months have flown by in Perú with the Maldonado Anniversay taking centre stage with folkloric dances (brilliantly choreographed by our local dance teacher) as well as celebrating Mother's Day. Local folkloric dance is so important to keep alive and the kids love to get involved, keeping the stories of their ancestors vibrant in the present day. Our new local assistant teacher and ex-student Elizabeth has settled in very well, teaching 1st and 2nd grade and we will be welcoming another ex-student to our teaching ranks this month. Both will receive a monthly salary and help towards their university fees.

Thank you all for your support and please do sponsor the community as they take on their hike on 6th June. Cheers
