I hope all is well. As the new school year gets back underway GlobalGiving will be matching all individual donations to this page up to $50 by 50% between today, Tuesday 25th March to Friday 28th March. It would be fantastic if you could donate and take advantage of this extra matching and thank you in advance.
The new school year gets back underway this month and we will be continuing with our local Phoenix teacher as well as providing daily fruit for the children. We will also be buying gas for the school meals which will be enhanced with fresh vegetables from the school garden. We will also be providing each student with their own textbooks which they can use at home as well as in the school.
Many thanks for all your support for the projects and we’ll be in touch in the next couple of months with a further update.
Cheers

Looking ahead to 2025 in Peru

End of term dance
I hope all is well with you. It has been a great month on the projects with our annual trip to the coast for the children and mothers bringing this year’s school year to a close along with graduations. The final harvest of the school vegetable garden will be shared between the families ensuring fresh produce over the coming weeks during the holiday with potatoes being planted in advance of the new school term next March.
The students have been learning how to bake now that we have the brick oven in the school. Recently they made t’anta wawa (guaguas de pan) which is a traditional sweet bread to celebrate Day of the Dead and is eaten throughout November. The word wawa or guagua is Quechua for baby. The bread is shaped like a baby or doll and represents those who have died and are being remembered.
The school in Perú will continue as normal in 2025 with our local teacher helping out across all grades as usual! We will be providing personal work text-books whilst paying for the gas for the cooking and daily fruit each month. Impington International College will once again be undertaking construction work in the school as well as teaching and mural painting.
As always we will also be celebrating cultural events throughout the year finishing off with the beach trip at the end of the year. Meals will be supplemented with our school vegetable garden and more hot food can be prepared with the oven we built this year.
Thank you all so much for your support this year which has allowed us to achieve so much and we hope you can continue to support the projects in the future - we have so much still to do!
Have a great 2025
Cheers

Celebrating 18 years working in Peru
By Dom Williams | Founder and Director
![Anniversary]()
Anniversary
We recently celebrated eighteen years working in Peru with plenty of dance and food. The food was cooked in the new brick oven built earlier this year during the Impington International School trip. So much has been achieved since we started with one classroom in 2006 and our ever-present local teacher Edy Luz deserves all the credit for making the school what it is today.
Classes have been going well with final exams coming up in December followed by our annual trip to the coast for the children and the mothers. They live in the desert at 2,200m (7,000 feet) so to see, feel and be in the ocean is such a thrill for them all, especially the little ones who have never seen it before.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach our 18th milestone and mark your diaries for July 2026 when we will be celebrating our 20th anniversary with a charity challenge in Colca Canyon (and hopefully chicken cooked in the brick oven!) - more information to follow in due course.
cheers
