Although outdoor children’s areas are allowed to operate now in Peru, group meetings in small, enclosed spaces are still not permitted. Despite some discussions about opening at least schools in rural areas, where case numbers are low, we are yet to see that happen and all schools are still delivering classes online.
The good news is that Peru’s vaccine program is well underway and case numbers have been falling consistently for a few weeks. The Cusco region is administering vaccines to anyone over 40 and some rural areas have even started to vaccinate younger people too. Because of this – and a change of government – we are hoping for some changes to be made soon, so watch this space!
Thank you for continuing to provide learning resources for children in Cusco. We can't wait to bring the children back again!
