By Lacine SAWADOGO | President of Global NEEED Burkina
As part of the implementation of the Project "Free school fees for displaced children in Burkina Faso" which aims to eventually remove around 500 internally displaced children in street situations, Global NEEED Burkina proceeded during the month October 2021, the enrollment and re-enrollment of 25 internally displaced students including 17 girls and 8 boys, all withdrawn from the streets in the commune of Ouahigouya.
All these internally displaced students were graciously received at the Lycée Moderne de l'Amitié in Ouahigouya, a secondary school managed by Global NEEED Burkina. As a result, they all receive free school supplies for lessons and daily hot meals.
These kids are really lucky and want to make the most of it. Attendance at classes testifies to their commitment to seize the pole held out to them.
Overall, everything is going well for these children.
