Aldeas Infantiles SOS continues its free school meals for children at social risk. This provides them with at least one meal with the necessary nutrients in their schools (on school days), improving their health and school achievement and enabling them to lead a normal life.
Our overall goal is to reduce the suffering undergone by children as a result of the current economic situation and to strengthen and normalize family environments in order to improve their quality of life.
Once childrens' needs are met in all the schools involved in the program, the number of scholarships has been reduced.
There are 292 beneficiaries of this program and the running cost amounts to 5 Euro/child/day and 900 Euro/child/year.
Beneficiaries
Direct:
Number of minors: 292
Indirect:
Number of families: 183 (families as opposed to family members)
No. Families: 183
We currently have to defray the costs of 292 meal scholarships, equivalent to 51,624 meals
