At our Recovery Center, the work never stops. Even during the hot Romanian summer months, when the temperature outside rises above 35°C, the sound of children’s laughter, effort, and small victories fills our rooms. Every month, more than 50 children step through our doors, each one carrying a story, a challenge, and a dream. For some families, hope once felt distant. Yet today, many parents dare to believe again. They whisper dreams of independence, of a normal life for their little ones, and we walk alongside them as those dreams slowly take shape.
Roxana – our therapist who heals through play and love
If you visit our Center, you will quickly notice that Roxana, our therapist, does not follow a rigid script or offer a miracle formula. She comes with patience, gentleness, and an open heart. Every child is unique, and Roxana knows how to meet each one where they are—sometimes with a smile, sometimes with silence, and often through the simple power of play.
The very first meeting is never about what a child should be doing. It is about understanding who they are: how they react, how they feel, how they express themselves. Roxana observes carefully, reflects their gestures, and builds a safe, welcoming space. No unnecessary words, no pressure—only presence, attention, and trust.
Slowly, play becomes the shared language. A toy is no longer just an object; it becomes a bridge between fear and courage, between silence and communication, between isolation and connection. Step by step, children begin to respond. They look, they smile, they reach out, they learn. And those steps, however small, light up the hearts of both parents and therapists.
As Roxana herself says:
“I do not treat autism by the book. I look at the child, I listen, and I adapt. Every step, no matter how small, matters.”
Her approach is not only about therapy but about reminding families that healing is not a straight line. It is a journey filled with patience, love, and moments of discovery. With the involvement of families and consistency at home, therapy begins to weave itself naturally into daily life. And the joy shining in the children’s eyes is the clearest sign that something beautiful is taking root.
The story of our Center is not only about professional interventions. It is about hope reborn in parents’ hearts. It is about children who discover courage through play. And it is about people like Roxana, who remind us that healing begins with love, grows stronger through play, and endures through trust.
