Friendship Bracelets for the LGBTQ Community

As we look ahead to this summer’s Pride season, the Mama Dragons community is already hard at work. Across the country, volunteers have been gathering supplies, sharing patterns, and spending countless hours creating handmade friendship bracelets that we will distribute at Pride celebrations and community events.

Each year, Mama Dragons gives away thousands of these bracelets as a visible sign of love and support. Every bracelet is made by hand and represents a message that matters deeply: you are not alone.

Our bracelets celebrate the full diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. Volunteers carefully select colors that reflect the flags of many identities and orientations so that youth and adults alike can find something that feels personal and affirming. For many recipients, these bracelets become more than a keepsake — they are reminders that there are parents, families, and communities who care about their safety, dignity, and belonging.

As Pride events approach, demand continues to grow. Attending events requires registration fees, travel expenses, materials, and shipping costs to get supplies into the hands of volunteers and finished bracelets to event locations.
