SoyMas Foundation, in partnership with Chilean scientists trained in Silicon Valley (former Netflix and Airbnb leaders), equips young mothers from La Pintana and other vulnerable communities with skills in programming, data analysis, and AI. Through an intensive one-year program, participants gain market-relevant skills, access formal employment, and achieve economic autonomy, proving technology education can break cycles of poverty and gender exclusion.
In La Pintana, one of Chile's most vulnerable urban communities, young mothers face persistent poverty, digital exclusion, and limited access to education and formal employment. Rapid technological change has widened the gap, leaving many women without digital skills demanded by today's job market. Caring for children, trauma, and lack of support networks further restrict their opportunities, reinforcing cycles of intergenerational poverty and social exclusion.
By bringing expertise from Silicon Valley to La Pintana, this project provides young mothers with practical training in digital literacy, data analysis, and AI-supported tools aligned with real labor-market demand. Through hands-on instruction, mentorship, and psychosocial support, participants gain job-ready skills, confidence, and networks, enabling them to access education, employment, and sustainable income pathways that break cycles of poverty.
This project creates lasting economic and social mobility for young mothers and their families by building in-demand digital skills and confidence. Graduates gain access to higher-quality employment, stable income, and continued education, while their children benefit from improved wellbeing and opportunity. Over time, the program strengthens local talent pipelines, reduces gender gaps in technology, and contributes to long-term poverty reduction in La Pintana.
