Dear friends,
We are preparing for our return to the Peruvian Amazon in November 2026. This expedition is a major milestone, marking seven years since our 2019 launch, as we evaluate established orchards and expand our support to the communities that are incredible stewards of the rainforest.
Bridging Tradition and Science
In our nursery in Loreto, our local arborist and team member, Pedro, is currently growing high-quality, organic saplings tailored to the region’s unique ecosystem. A central focus remains the Aguaje palm, a native, traditional superfood essential to both Amazonian nutrition and local biodiversity.
Our approach centers on a respectful dialogue between international arboricultural standards and traditional Indigenous knowledge. We are facilitating discussions on ancestral planting practices to ensure our expertise aligns with the wisdom of the people who have managed these forests for millennia.
From Nutrition to Economic Sovereignty
This year, we continue providing community-selected households with larger jump-start donations (averaging 500 trees per household). This scale is designed to move families beyond subsistence and into sustainable income generation. By diversifying these orchards based on local market demand and family preferences, we are helping to build a 'bio-economy' that protects the standing forest while providing a vital economic safety net.
The Challenge of the River
Growing the trees is only half the battle. Getting thousands of saplings to remote communities requires complex logistics, including specialized boats and difficult transport along the Amazon and its many tributaries. This level of coordination is intensive and relies entirely on your support and the tireless work of our local parnters at CONAPAC.
How You Can Help
We need your financial assistance to bridge the gap between our nursery and the families waiting downriver. Your donation directly funds:
The communities of the Peruvian Amazon are ready and adept at reforesting their lands with food-producing trees. Please help us provide the resources they need to thrive by donating today!
With gratitude,
The FTPF Team
